Swift Technical Canada is currently recruiting for an experienced CAD Designer for our client’s on-site operation in Fort McMurray. This is a contract position that is expected to run for approximately 1 year depending on the needs of the project and will be based on the project site. Anticipated start date – ASAP

9:00am Tuesday 9 February, 2010


*Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D & 3D, knowledge of Microstation.
*Knowledgeable in Electrical & Instrumentation Specifications would be a definite asset.
*Competent at reading spool fabrication, isometric, and P&ID drawings, knowledge technical drawing symbols along with applicable piping or electrical codes.


*Creates and revises fabrication details, isometric, and P&ID drawings as directed. Produce AutoCAD format drawings.
*Quality checks to ensure proper reviews and approvals before drawings are migrated to Livelink
*Ensures quality for MOC / Projects as-building process – in cooperation with and construction contractors and field engineers
Provides drafting support for Lead Engineers and Field Engineers during the Project design phase and implementation


*Physical Effort: Field/Office position
*Physical Environment: Required to work indoors, outdoors (during projects walkdowns)
*Sensory Attention: approximately 60% of time will require intense concentration.
*Spends approximately 1 hour/day in meetings. Spends approximately 5-6 hours/day on the computer.
